Question:
We have a CERVIS user that has been assigned the Group Leader access level and has also been assigned as the Event Organizer for a specific event. When this individual logs into CERVIS, he is able to register anyone in the system for the event where he is listed as the organizer. I thought a user with the Group Leader access level was only able to register for members of their group. Why is this user able to register volunteers that are not a member of their group?
Answer:
When a CERVIS user is assigned as the Event Organizer for an opportunity, they have complete control over the registration for that opportunity. This includes the ability to register any volunteer in the system for that opportunity.
As an Event Organizer, the user only has access to the volunteer's phone number and email address since that is information that might be needed to fulfill the duties as the Event Organizer, but they do not have access to the entire profile or the ability to update volunteer's profiles, except for the members of their Group.
If you would like this user to only have access to the members of their group, then you will need to remove them as the Event Organizer.
