Question:
Individuals who are members of our volunteer organization staff are not able to receive email messages sent from CERVIS. How can we fix this?
Answer:
Some organizations do not permit email servers from outside of their organization to send emails on behalf of their internal domains. For example, if your CERVIS system configuration has the "System E-mails Sent From" field set to "volunteer@myorganization.org" and your organization is blocking any messages originating from outside of your organization that say they are from the "myorganization.org" domain, then internal users will not receive email messages from CERVIS. Please note, however, this type of filtering will have no impact to volunteers or organization staff using personal email addresses, and they will be able to receive email messages sent out from CERVIS. To correct this problem, please use one of the solutions below:
- Have your organization's information technology (IT) department add the CERVIS application email servers (“cervistech.com”) as "trusted" external email servers for your domain on your organization's email filtering solution.
- Since the above solution is not technologically possible in every filtering solution, and not permitted by policy restrictions in some organizations even if technologically possible, we provide the ability to change the "from" address on all outgoing messages from your CERVIS account. To change the "System E-mails Sent From" value for your CERVIS account, contact our Customer Support team by following the steps in the knowledge base article HERE.
If email sent from CERVIS is being flagged as spam for reasons other than what is described above, please reference the knowledge base article HERE.
