Question:
I have several events configured with registration restrictions based on custom fields, groups, and gender. The restrictions work fine when the volunteer is trying to register online for themselves, but when I login as an administrator, I am able to register anyone for the events, even those that do not meet the specified criteria. Why is this happening?
Answer:
This behavior is allowed by design. When a user with the Administrator, Leadership Team, Group Leader, or Event Leader access level attempts to register a volunteer for an opportunity, any configured restrictions are not implemented. This is done to allow authorized users within your organization to override any configured restrictions without having to update a volunteer's information or change the event. Anytime that an Administrator wants to register a volunteer for an opportunity with restrictions they will also be alerted to the restriction if the volunteer does not meet the requirements and given the opportunity to complete or cancel the registration.
