The Display Registered Volunteers feature allows you to display a list of volunteers who have registered for an opportunity. This setting is configured individually for each opportunity, giving you the flexibility to determine who can view the current registration as a part of the opportunity listing.
Visibility Options
Found under the Advanced Options section when creating/editing an opportunity, the Display Registered Volunteers field allows you to specify whether or not you want to display the currently registered volunteers. This is set to ‘No’ by default. If you would like this information to be displayed, you can choose from one of the following visibility settings:
Public
The list of registered volunteers is publicly visible to anyone viewing the opportunity, whether they are logged in or not.
Best for: Community events where encouraging participation and showcasing volunteer involvement is beneficial.
Private
The registration list is visible only to volunteers who are logged into their CERVIS account.
Best for: Organizations that want to limit volunteer information to only authenticated users, which allows any logged-in volunteer to see who is participating.
Restricted
The registration list is visible only to the volunteers who are currently registered for that specific opportunity.
Best for: Team-based events or opportunities where participants may benefit from knowing who else is serving, while keeping the list hidden from all other users.
Additional Display Options
You can also choose to display additional information collected during registration. These optional details appear alongside the registered volunteer's name. Including this information can help inform or communicate various details to participants while maintaining the visibility level you've selected.
Registration Notes
If you have selected to allow volunteers to include a note when registering for this opportunity, these notes can be displayed.
Registration Questions and Responses
If you have included Custom Registration Questions as part of the registration, the questions and responses can be included.
💡 Pro Tip: Displaying Registration Notes and/or Registration Questions can be especially helpful for coordinating things like carpools, supplies being brought, potlucks, etc., among registered volunteers.
Name Format Display Options
Determining how volunteer names are displayed is a global setting found in your System Configuration. Under the Opportunity Management Settings section, you will find the Name Format for Public Display of Registered Volunteers setting. Choose from the following formatting options for display:
- Last Name, First Name
