Service Project Application
AnsweredWould like it if we could disable the service project application feature. Even though we provide language asking volunteers not to do a service project application they still do it. Often times they 'apply' for numerous opportunities. The volunteers then believe they have applied to fill a specific slot when in fact they have not. Our 'service projects' are on-going opportunities which may or may not have an opening at any time.

Hi Kathleen,
If you don't want volunteers to be able to submit a service project application for a service project, you can just set the "Show on web registration page" field for the project to "No". This will allow volunteers who are already registered for the service project to go in and log their hours, but will prevent any new volunteers from submitting a service project application.

Thanks. However, wouldn’t this mean that volunteers would not see the opportunity on our web page? We want them to see what is available but not do the service request. The youth especially, just start indicating everything even if it is not geared toward youth. Isn’t there a way to disable the feature but still allow volunteers to see opportunities on our web page? Hi Kathy,
Thanks for the clarification. If you don't want to allow applications to be submitted for a service project, but still want to show the project information online, you can just set the "Show on web registration page" to "Yes - Contact Us". This will show the project online, but will prompt volunteers to contact your organization to register for the event.
