    Hi Andrew,

This system already functions in a manner similar to what you are requesting.  If the volunteer clicks on the unsubscribe link in a "Thank You" email, they will only be unsubscribed from future "Thank You" emails and will still receive all other messages.  Likewise, if the volunteer clicks on the unsubscribe link in a "Happy Birthday" email, they will only be unsubscribed from future "Happy Birthday" messages and will still receive all other messages.  If a volunteer clicks on the unsubscribe link in a general email blast, they will be unsubscribed from future general email communication but will still receive all other message types.

If an email message is sent only to a single specific individual, the message will not include an 'unsubscribe' link as this is seen as a direct communication with a specific individual.  Even if a volunteer's profile is marked as 'unsubscribed' they will still receive messages sent individually to that volunteer and they will also receive message sent in relation to a specific opportunity the volunteer is registered for.

Additionally, the system does not include the 'unsubscribe' link in automatic registration confirmation and reminder messages because those messages can include important information about the opportunity that the volunteer needs to know regarding the opportunity.  The system does allow for admins to unsub volunteers from these types of messages manually, on a case by case basis, but does not give the volunteer the option to unsub from these types of messages.

    Warm Regards,
